Los Angeles County Sanitation District

The Sanitation Districts is a public agency consisting of 23 independent special districts that provide regional wastewater and solid waste management for about 5.7 million people in Los Angeles County. Their responsibilities include operation and maintenance of 1,400 miles of trunk sewers, 11 wastewater treatment plants and 12 solid waste facilities.

The Sewerage Facilities Geographic Information Systems (GIS) application is a browser-based application that is utilized to view sewer system infrastructure and manage related data such as sewer flow and sewer condition as of last inspection.

"We use WebORB to process complex data requests to a spatial database and serve resulting information back to our web application. WebORB has allowed us to utilize existing staff expertise with .NET development to quickly build and deploy server-based functions. We noticed significant performance improvements after adding WebORB to our application."
