I would like to get rtmpt working locally before I start testing on server with firewall and forced to use port 80. I am using Tomcat 7 on Vista Enterprise. Not sure how to use port 80. IIS currently has it. I read online its hard to free up port 80 for use by another app server.

My channel def is

Am I safe to change the port to 8080 for testing and then to 80 when deploying to system with firewall?

you can change your endpoint like it shown below:

endpoint uri="rtmpt://{server.name}:8080"

Although rtmpt is using the port 80, you can specified the different port in the connection string. Make sure that you are using "rtmpt://" instead of "rtmp://"
