I am using WebOrb to integrate a Flex application with .NET server side objects. All the quick starts/examples assume that the Flex application and Weborb installation are on the same server. With our application, this will not be the case. Two web servers will be utilized, one hosting the Flex application. The other web server hosting our server side objects through weborb. So far I have been unable to successfully configure the flex app/weborb for this scenario. Some of the issues I believe need to addressed are:

1) cross domain access of weborb server side objects

2) How to configure the flex server to access a Weborb installation on a different server

3) How to modify the default Weborb xml configuration files (services-config.xml)

Any help with these issues is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey Albert,

Didn't forget about you, just been swamped.

To answer your questions:

To start configuring the app to run from a separate server, you will need to make changes to the services-config.xml and/or the weborb-services-config.xml files. You will want to change all your relative paths to weborb.aspx to exact path references:
Code:

                false

This would become
Code:

                false

That covers the configuration file.

As far as cross domain access, you will just need to provide a crossdomain.xml file that open access to your server for your flex client server.

These to things should take care of it all, however, if you still need help on number 2, please post back and further explain what you are looking to do.

Thanks again,
Michael

Hi Micheal, I have a problem and not sure where this comes from, I configured an App to make RTMP NetConnections to a java client side. This all works on my computer using http://localhost:8080. Problem is, when I send the built SWF file across to my friend who uses a Linux, mozilla firefox and has the same WebORBForJava5 server java client configuration as me, the App does not work . In that it can't make those rtmp netconnection calls.

WHat could I be doing wrong? Please HElp
