Captain Data

Sales Intelligence

Extract LinkedIn and Sales Navigator data through the Captain Data External API, resolving people and companies by name or URL. Agents enrich a prospect list and pull the signals that decide whether an account is worth working.

8 actions API key available
The quarterly refresh of contacts attached to open opportunities starts
Agent calls Find Person for each contact name plus their recorded employer
Agent runs Enrich Person on the resolved profile URL for the current role and company
Agent compares the returned employer against the employer stored on the CRM record
Agent separates genuine moves from renames, acquisitions and title changes at the same company
Agent lists every contact whose employer no longer matches, with both records side by side
The deal owner decides which record is current before the CRM contact is rewritten

What This Integration Enables

Captain Data ships eight actions, and the small surface is a position rather than a gap. This is a resolution and enrichment connector, not a discovery engine. You bring a name, or a company, or a Sales Navigator query you already built by hand, and it returns the structured record behind it. Find Person turns a full name and an employer into a profile URL and a stable identifier. Enrich Person turns that URL into headline, summary, location, current and past roles, skills, education, connection counts and open-to-work status. Find Company and Enrich Company do the same on the account side, down to the most recent funding round with its type, amount and investors.

The targeting decision stays where it already was. Search People and Search Companies require the full query value copied out of a Sales Navigator search URL, which means the human built the filters in the interface they know and the agent executes them on a schedule. That division is worth noticing, because it is the same division FlowRunner draws everywhere: the person decides what should be true, and the agent does the repetitive part of finding out whether it is. Both search actions are cursor paginated and their cursors expire after twenty four hours, so any list an agent builds is a snapshot with a clock attached rather than a standing subscription. Get Workspace Consumption reports the credit balance and a per-action breakdown, which is what a flow checks before it commits to a large run.

Without FlowRunner

Contact records decay quietly Nobody finds out a champion left until an email bounces or a meeting is declined
Enrichment needs a URL to start A row with a name and a company but no LinkedIn link gets skipped
Targeting logic trapped in a UI The search a rep spent an hour building lives only in their Sales Navigator tab

With FlowRunner

Decay caught on a schedule Contacts on open deals get checked on a cadence rather than after they break
A name is enough to start The agent resolves the profile first, then enriches it, without a human pasting a link
The saved search becomes a flow The rep's own search query drives a repeatable extraction with the targeting unchanged

Use Case Scenarios

Turning a saved Sales Navigator search into a maintained list

A rep spends an afternoon in Sales Navigator narrowing a search until the results are genuinely the right people. Rather than exporting once and watching the list rot, they hand the query string to a flow. Each week the agent runs Search People on it, calls Enrich Person on every result that is new since the last run, and writes the enriched rows into Airtable with the seniority, tenure and job-change flags attached. The rep's judgment about who matters is preserved exactly. What changes is that the list stays current without anybody reopening the tab.

Building an account map from nothing but a company name

An inbound form arrives with a company name and no domain. The agent calls Find Company to resolve it to a Captain Data company UID and a LinkedIn URL, runs Enrich Company for headcount, industries, headquarters, offices and the latest funding round, then calls List Company Employees with a Sales Navigator filter restricted to the functions and seniorities that matter. What reaches the AE is not a lead, it is a map: the account, its size, its recent funding, and the six people at it who could plausibly own the problem. Cursor pagination keeps the roster call bounded, and the agent checks Get Workspace Consumption before it starts so a five thousand person company does not quietly consume the month.

Watching for the champion who moved

A customer success flow runs monthly over the named contacts on live accounts. For each one it calls Find Person with the stored name and employer, then Enrich Person on the result. Where the current company differs from the one on file, or where Search People reports a recently hired or recently promoted signal, the agent assembles the evidence and stops. A move is two opportunities at once, one to protect and one to open, and which of those it actually is depends on facts the connector cannot see.

Human-in-Loop Highlight

A job-change signal is the highest value output of this connector and the most dangerous thing to automate. Search People and List Company Employees return recently hired and recently promoted flags, and Enrich Person returns the current employer. When those disagree with the CRM, the agent has found something real. What it does not have is the date, the internal announcement status, or the shape of the open deal attached to the old record. Overwriting that contact is not a reversible edit: it detaches a live opportunity from the person who was sponsoring it, and in most CRMs the audit trail of what the record used to say is thinner than anyone assumes. So the agent stops and pulls the digital andon cord. It posts both records to the deal owner, the stored employer and title next to the enriched ones, with the open opportunity value, the stage, and the profile URL it resolved. The question is exact: keep this contact on the existing opportunity, create a new contact at the new employer, or neither, because the profile is out of date. The owner answers, and only then does the agent write. Nothing about the CRM changes on the strength of a flag whose timestamp the API does not publish.

Agent Capabilities

8 actions

People

3
  • Find Person Resolves a person's LinkedIn profile from their full name, optionally narrowed by company name. Returns the Captain Data person UID together with the profile URL and numeric profile ID, which Enrich Person then consumes. This is the entry point when a record carries a name but no link.
  • Search People Runs a Sales Navigator people search and returns matching profiles with name, job title, company, location and recent job-change signals such as recently hired or recently promoted. The query must be the full value copied from a Sales Navigator search URL. Results are cursor paginated and cursors expire after twenty four hours.
  • Enrich Person Returns a full profile from a profile URL, including headline, summary, location, current and past roles, company details, skills, languages, education, connection counts and open-to-work status. Full Profile additionally pulls the complete experience, education and volunteering history. Accepts standard LinkedIn and Sales Navigator profile URLs.

Companies

4
  • Find Company Resolves a company's LinkedIn page from its name and returns the Captain Data company UID, company URL and numeric company ID. The UID is what List Company Employees requires, and the URL is what Enrich Company requires.
  • Search Companies Runs a Sales Navigator company search and returns matching companies with name, description, category, employee count and LinkedIn URLs. As with people search, the query is the full parameter value copied from a Sales Navigator URL, and results are cursor paginated with expiring cursors.
  • Enrich Company Returns a full company profile from a LinkedIn company URL, including description, tagline, website, domain, industries, specialties, founding year, headcount and employee range, headquarters and all office locations, follower counts, logo, and the most recent funding round with its type, amount, currency and investors. Accepts standard company, showcase and Sales Navigator URLs.
  • List Company Employees Lists employees of a company by its Captain Data company UID, returning name, job title, location, profile URL, tenure dates and recent job-change signals. An optional Sales Navigator query filters the roster by seniority, function or geography, which is how a flow gets six relevant people instead of four thousand rows.

Workspace

1
  • Get Workspace Consumption Returns the workspace credit balance and usage for the active billing month, including credits left, credits used, the plan maximum, the month boundaries and a per-action consumption breakdown. Used to gate a bulk enrichment run before it starts and to alert when the balance falls below what the rest of the month needs.
