Use Case Scenarios

Rate-Shopped Fulfillment

A new order arrives. The agent reads the parcel and destination, calls Request Rates to compare couriers, and applies the order's rule (cheapest for standard, fastest for expedited). It runs Create Shipment for the winning courier, Generate Labels to produce the label, and posts the tracking number to [Slack](/integrations/slack) for the fulfillment team. Rate-shopping that used to happen order by order becomes an automatic decision the team can audit.

Cross-Border Catalog and Customs

A new product is added to the catalog. The agent calls Create Product with dimensions and value, then List HS Codes and List Item Categories to classify it for customs. When an international order for that product ships, Create Shipment already has the customs data it needs, so the parcel clears without a person filling in codes at ship time.
