A giveaway reaches its scheduled close date
Agent calls List Leads By Points for everyone above the qualifying threshold
Agent calls Get Lead on each candidate and reads the fraud flag UpViral has already computed
Agent walks the referral tree on the flagged entries to see whether the referrals share a mail domain or arrived in a single burst
Agent posts the shortlist, the flagged entries and the supporting evidence to the campaign channel
The campaign owner decides who is disqualified before a single winner is named in public

What This Integration Enables

UpViral is a points scoreboard. It measures enthusiasm and ranks it, and it does not pretend to decide what that enthusiasm is worth. There is no reward object in this connector, no conversion event, no fulfilment state. Entrants accumulate points, you pull whoever is above a line, and the decision about who actually wins happens somewhere else. Once you see the product that way, the shape of a good UpViral flow becomes obvious: the campaign generates a ranking, and your flow supplies the judgment the ranking cannot.

Agents can list campaigns and discover the custom fields configured on each one. They can add an entrant from your own form while attributing them to the referrer whose code brought them in, and retrieve any participant by lead ID or by email. That record carries the person's points total, referral link, custom fields, referral tree and the fraud flag UpViral has calculated. Agents can also page through the full entrant list for export, filter entrants by points with a comparison operator to pull everyone above a threshold, and award points for actions the campaign has no way to observe on its own.

That last capability matters more than it sounds. UpViral tracks the actions it hosts. It cannot see a purchase in your billing system, a milestone in your product, or a share on a channel it does not measure. Add Points is how those things count.

Without FlowRunner

Winners drawn from a raw export The leaderboard is downloaded and the top rows win, whoever they are
Fraud signals unread UpViral computes a flag on each entrant that nobody looks at before the draw
Points only reflect what UpViral can see Actions in your own product earn nothing because the campaign never hears about them

With FlowRunner

Winners drawn from a reviewed shortlist The threshold pull is the start of the process, not the end of it
Flags surfaced with evidence Every flagged entrant reaches a person with their referral tree attached
Points reflect the whole campaign Add Points credits purchases, shares and product actions UpViral cannot observe

Use Case Scenarios

Entries taken on your own form, referrals still credited

An entrant fills in a Typeform rather than the hosted campaign page, because the entry needs a question UpViral's form does not ask. The agent calls List Custom Fields to confirm which extra fields the campaign accepts, then Add Contact with the entrant's details and the referrer's code taken from the URL, so the introduction is still credited to the right person. The response carries the new entrant's identifier, and the agent returns their referral link in the confirmation email. You keep control of the entry experience and the referral chain stays intact.

Points for the actions the campaign cannot see

A campaign rewards shares and signups, but the behaviour you actually care about is a purchase. When a payment succeeds in Stripe, the agent resolves the buyer with Get Lead By Email and calls Add Points to move them up the leaderboard. The same pattern covers a completed onboarding step, an app install, or a share on a platform UpViral does not measure. The scoreboard ends up ranking the behaviour that matters to your business rather than only the behaviour the widget can observe.

A shortlist that a person can actually review

When the campaign closes, the agent calls List Leads By Points with a comparison and a threshold to pull everyone in contention, then Get Lead on each one to read their referral tree and their fraud flag. It writes the whole shortlist into Google Sheets with the flag, the referral count and the entry timestamp side by side, and posts the flagged subset into Slack with the specific reason each looks suspicious. The campaign owner reviews a shortlist, not a spreadsheet dump.

Human-in-Loop Highlight

UpViral computes a fraud flag on every entrant and returns it on Get Lead. What it does not offer, anywhere in this connector, is a way to act on it. There is no disqualify action, no flag write, no exclusion list. The platform tells you something is wrong and then hands the decision entirely to you, which means the only place that decision can be made is outside UpViral, and it should be made by a person. The irreversibility here is social rather than technical. Naming a giveaway winner is a public act, and there is no API call that un-announces it. Disqualifying somebody after the fact costs you more goodwill than the giveaway ever bought.

So the agent does the work that scales and stops at the work that does not. It pulls the shortlist with List Leads By Points, reads every candidate with Get Lead, walks the referral tree on anyone flagged, and presents the case in one message: "Top entrant has 340 points from 68 referrals. UpViral flagged them. 61 of the 68 referrals use the same mail domain and all arrived within 20 minutes on Tuesday night. Disqualify, or accept and announce?" A person answers before anything becomes public. That gate is the whole reason to run a giveaway through an Orchestration as a Service platform instead of a spreadsheet: the counting, ranking and evidence gathering are automatic, and the one judgment that carries reputational risk stays with a named human being.

Agent Capabilities

8 actions

Campaigns

2
  • List Campaigns Lists every UpViral campaign on the account with its ID and name. The response is not paginated. Used to resolve the campaign ID that every other action requires.
  • List Custom Fields Lists the custom field names configured on a campaign as a flat list of strings. Used to discover which extra fields Add Contact can populate for that campaign before building the entry payload.

Entrants

4
  • Add Contact Adds a participant to a campaign and returns their generated identifier, optionally attributing them to an existing participant's referral code so the referral is credited. Used when someone enters the giveaway through your own form rather than the hosted page.
  • Get Lead Retrieves a participant by their UpViral lead ID, returning their points total, referral link, fraud flag, custom fields, who referred them and everyone they have referred. Used to check an entrant's standing and to assemble the evidence behind a suspected fraudulent entry.
  • Get Lead By Email Retrieves the same full participant record by email address instead of lead ID. Used whenever your own system knows the person only by email, which is the common case when crediting points from a purchase.
  • List Leads Lists the participants in a campaign, paged with a start offset and page size, returning each person's name, email, status, referral link and custom fields along with the cursor values for the next page. Used to export the entrant list.

Points and Standing

2
  • Add Points Awards points to a participant, moving them up the campaign leaderboard. Used to reward actions your own product tracks and UpViral cannot see, such as completing a purchase or sharing on a channel the campaign does not measure.
  • List Leads By Points Lists participants filtered by their points total, taking a comparison, a points value and a paging window, for example everyone above a threshold. Used to build the winner shortlist or to identify high performers worth rewarding separately.
