What This Integration Enables
An agent can create or update a single user profile, or sync many in one bulk request, look a user up by email or userId, delete a user, and overwrite subscription state across lists, channels, and message types. It reads the user field schema so a flow knows which dataFields exist before it writes. It tracks a single custom event or a batch of events, which is how triggered campaigns and workflow entry criteria get their signals. For audiences and sends, the agent manages static lists, subscribes and unsubscribes users, reads list membership and size, and sends triggered email and push from existing campaigns with merge variables. It lists campaigns, pulls aggregate campaign metrics as CSV, and reads email templates. Iterable exposes no event triggers in this integration, so flows start from the systems feeding it: a product event, a data platform, or a scheduled sweep. The agent is the bridge between where behavior happens and the cross-channel campaigns that respond to it.

Record Behavior for a Campaign
An audit event fires in a source system. The agent calls Track Event to record the corresponding activity against a user profile, so a downstream Iterable campaign can react to it. The signal reaches the campaign the moment the behavior happens.
Sync a Cohort and Target It
The agent pulls a cohort of people from [Customer.io](/integrations/customerio) with Search Customers, then calls Bulk Update Users to sync their profiles into Iterable and Subscribe to List to add them to a targeted list. A cohort defined in one platform becomes an addressable list in another, in one flow.
Confirm the Send
When a Send Email triggered send succeeds, the agent posts a confirmation with the campaign details to a marketing operations channel using [Slack](/integrations/slack) Send Message To Channel. The team sees that the send went out without watching the Iterable dashboard.
Human-in-Loop Highlight
Bulk Update Users writes many profiles in a single request, and a mistake in the mapping or the source cohort propagates across every profile at once. When the agent is about to run Bulk Update Users on a batch above the size you set, it treats the write as a [human-in-the-loop](/concepts/human-in-the-loop/) step. It pauses, shows the record count, the dataFields it will set, and a sample record, and routes approval to a marketing ops owner through Slack or email. The owner approves, and the agent runs the batch. The owner holds, and nothing is written. Single-profile updates flow through untouched; the bulk write that reshapes an audience gets a human first.
